SOCKS5 Setup Guide: QR Codes, Import Links and Connection Strings
Retrieve SOCKS5 settings from your assigned asset. Learn when to use a QR code, a SOCKS import link or an IP:port:username:password string and verify the client configuration.
Understand the service and workflow
First check that activation is complete in My Orders, then open My IP Assets and select the asset's SOCKS5 connection entry. The dialog shows the current address, port, username, password, import QR code and a plain connection string.
The four-field format is IP:port:username:password. For example, 198.51.100.10:1080:demo-user:demo-pass illustrates the format only and is not a working node. Use Copy connection information in your own asset's dialog to obtain a single line for compatible tools, or fill each field separately in a settings form.
A SOCKS import link differs from the four-field string. Compatible clients such as Shadowrocket, v2rayN and v2rayNG have their own link or QR import interfaces. Do not paste a whole import link into an IP address field or treat its encoded authentication text as a plaintext password.
After importing, test the exit through the actual client. If connection fails, check expiry, protocol, address, port and credentials before investigating the local access path. A web import button attempts to open an installed application; it does not prove that the client is installed or that the connection is active. The account console currently uses Chinese labels.
Choose the right configuration format
| Check | What it means |
|---|---|
| IP:port:username:password | Use in a tool accepting four fields, or fill the corresponding settings separately. |
| SOCKS import link | Use the client's supported link-import interface; it is not a plaintext password. |
| QR code | Scan with a compatible client, then verify the imported address and protocol. |
| Open-in-client button | Attempts to open a compatible installed app; check the result in that application. |
